The Derby Runner Bolsover 10k Road Race
Sunday 14th January 2018 (revised date) at 09:30am ARC Permit No 17/188
North Derbyshire Running Club would like to thank you for entering our 31st annual Bolsover Road Race.
Race HQ is at Bolsover School on Mooracre Lane, please travel together if possible and arrive early to avoid congestion. For those with satnav the postcode at the school is S44 6XA. Under the terms of our use of Bolsover School no dogs will be allowed in the school grounds, this will be enforced by marshals at the school entrance.
Portaloos will be located near to the finish area and further toilets along with showers & changing facilities will be available in the Sports Hall where you can also leave any baggage. Note that runners leave baggage at their own risk and NDRC accepts no responsibility for any losses which may occur. Please do not leave any valuables.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase on the day. Our sponsor “Derby Runner” will have a range of goods for sale at the event with a 20% discount available to all 10k entrants; see back of your race number.
Car Parking - Follow the signs and watch for our marshals who will direct you to the public car parks in the town centre, about 1km (a warm up jog) away from the school. There is some parking at the school but this is very limited and all access roads will be closed from 9am. Please note vehicles parked at the school will not be allowed to leave until after the last runner has finished. Please park as directed at the town centre car parks and do not obstruct resident access on the course, particularly Horsehead Lane and Mooracre Lane.
The start is on Mooracre Lane close to the school entrance. The finish is within the school grounds. Please remain in finish order until you have cleared the funnel. Your ChampionChip will then be collected by a marshal and you will then be able to collect your race t-shirt.
The course is run over a fairly flat, one lap route, please keep to the left hand side of the road at all times unless directed otherwise by a marshal. A drinks station will be provided at approximately 5km and at the end of the race. ARC rules do not permit the wearing of head phones, if you do you will not be covered by our event liability insurance. Dogs are not allowed to accompany runners round the course.
Race Numbers should be pinned securely to the front of your vest & be clearly visible to assist officials at the finish. Please do not deface or modify your number in any way as this may lead to disqualification. There will not be any entries taken on the day of the race so please discourage any friends or club mates who haven’t registered from turning up to run. In case of emergency please complete the back of your race number with contact details plus any medical problems you may have or any current medication or allergies.
Your timing chip should be attached to your ankle and will be collected at the finish – No Chip……No Time.
ChampionChip timing works in two ways. Firstly, Gun to Chip - when the race is started your time is started. It stops when you cross the finish line. This is the official race time used to award prizes - No Chip…No Prize. Secondly, Chip to Chip – when you cross the start line your time starts. It stops when you cross the finish line. This is your personal time from the start to finish line. Both Chip times will appear in the results.
St John personnel will be on duty throughout the event and a trail car will follow the race to ensure that transport is available for injured runners.
Trophy for the first man/woman plus Derby Runner Vouchers for the first 3 men and women will be presented immediately after the third man/woman has finished. Age category prizes will posted out to winners after the race.
